Major Polish rivers are seriously threatened by government plans

Save the Rivers Coalition(Poland) brings together organisations which protect Poland’s rivers, streams and wetlands, and the coalition includes scientists, individual persons, local authorities and institutions.

Some major Polish rivers are seriously threatened by government plans, which aim to “modify river beds, drainage, dredge  and  construct dams,  reservoirs, levees  and riverside revetments along the lengths of Poland’s longest rivers” as Lukasz Lawicki and his colleagues explain in Cambridge Conservation News.
