Removal of the 22 meter high Yecla de Yeltes dam

In April 2018 the removal of the Yecla de Yeltes dam was started by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Duero (CHD), the managing water authority of the Duero river basin in Spain.

Location:

The CHD is responsible for the water management and maintenance of the water infrastructure; and they facilitate the use of water by agriculture, drinking water production, recreation and nature. When water infrastructure is no longer in use the consider removal to avoid maintenance costs and improve the ecological state of the rivers.
