Live from Croatia! Let’s celebrate the removal of the last barrier at Bijela Rijeka stream

We are thrilled to announce another live event celebrating the removal of the eighth and last barrier at Bijela Rijeka stream, an important tributary of the Plitvice Lakes, has been successfully removed.

The natural water flow has been restored and biodiversity increased, and enabled the return of the Danube trout – a key species for this area.

This event is organised by WWF Netherlands, together with WWF Adria. The project was carried out in partnership with Plitvice Lakes National Park and with the support of the Open Rivers Programme.
