Live from Italy! Celebrate with us the successful restoration of the Giovenco River

We are excited to announce another event celebrating the restoration of the Giovenco River in the Central Apennines, Italy. Through the removal of five weirs, over 11 km of river have been reconnected, thanks to efforts of Rewilding Apennines, with the support of the European Open Rivers Programme.
This project marks an important milestone for Italy, providing a valuable case study in the technical and bureaucratic aspects of dam removal. It not only strengthens the dam removal movement in Italy but also opens the way for similar restoration efforts on other barriers, both locally and beyond.
