We are thrilled to announce another live event celebrating the removal of the Perofilho Weir on one of the tributaries of the Tejo River in Portugal. Join us as Maria João Costa from ANP-WWF and Geoffrey Goll from Princeton Hydro shares insights into this restoration project, which aims to improve the water quality and habitat in the stream.
We invite you to join us for a special live broadcast on the Dam Removal Europe YouTube channel to learn more about this river restoration effort and its impact on local biodiversity.

The removal of the Perofilho Weir restored 2.5 km of stream, nearly half of its total length, enhancing connectivity between this river and the lower sections flowing into the Tejo River. The project also involved removing invasive river reeds and restoring natural riparian vegetation.
This restoration project was possible thanks to ANP-WWF, SOS Animal and the Município de Santarém.
